Management Team

The management team of McClenahan Companies consists of the owners and department supervisors. Meetings are held on a daily basis to track sales and production as well as personnel and other issues. The team consists of the following employees:

• James McClenahan, President james@spmcclenahan.com
  James has been working with McClenahan Companies since 1964 and has been President since 1977. James is a registered consulting arborist, elected into the American Society of Consulting Arborists in 1984. James McClenahan is a licensed Pest Control Operator, licensed contractor in the State of California, is a member of the California Arborist Association, International Society of Arboriculture, Society of Commercial Arboriculture, and the Tree Care Industry Association.
• John H McClenahan, Vice President john@spmcclenahan.com
  John has been working with McClenahan Companies since 1988. John has a Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, CA. John is an ISA Board-Certified Master Arborist, Licensed Pest Control Advisor, member of The American Society of Consulting Arborists, TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional. John is currently the Vice Chair of California Association of Pest Control Advisers (CAPCA) and served on the Board of Directors of Canopy, a Palo Alto-based non-profit advocate for the urban forest.
• Gary F. Armstrong, Vice President
  Gary has been with McClenahan Companies since 1969. He has a vast understanding of the tree care industry and specializes in tree diseases, pest management, and plant healthcare programs. He is well respected within the tree care industry and seen as a trusted advisor to our top-level clients.
• David Moore, Vice President
  David has been with the McClenahan Companies since 1974. His specialties include ornamental pruning, plant selection and identification. He is well respected within the tree care industry and seen as a trusted advisor to our top-level clients. David is currently responsible for tree surgery job scheduling.
• Miguel Berumen, Supervisor miguel@spmcclenahan.com
  Miguel has been with McClenahan Companies since 1983 and currently works in plant health care and sales. Miguel is an ISA Certified Arborist. Miguel was promoted to sales following an extensive career in the field, where he was highly regarded for his pruning and removal skills.

  Juan has been employed with McClenahan Companies since 1983. Juan is an ISA Certified Arborist and is TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional. Juan was promoted to safety supervisor following an extensive career in the field, where he was highly regarded for his skills in all phases of tree care.
• Joshua McClenahan, Director of Risk Management joshua@spmcclenahan.com
  Josh has been employed with McClenahan Companies since 2006. He transitioned to the family business from a Commercial Insurance Loss Control Consultant position. Josh received his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science in 2001 and his Master of Science in Safety Science in 2002 from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. He obtained TCIAs Certified Treecare Safety Professional designation and is also a BCSPs Certified Safety Professional(CSP).
